In the present report, the Spe­cial Rap­por­teur on con­tem­po­rary forms of slav­ery, includ­ing its caus­es and con­se­quences, iden­ti­fies key caus­es of home­less­ness and assess­es the spe­cif­ic man­i­fes­ta­tions of con­tem­po­rary forms of slav­ery among per­sons expe­ri­enc­ing home­less­ness. He analy­ses home­less­ness as a con­se­quence of con­tem­po­rary forms of slav­ery and iden­ti­fies chal­lenges in pro­tect­ing per­sons expe­ri­enc­ing home­less­ness from con­tem­po­rary forms of slav­ery. The Spe­cial Rap­por­teur high­lights a vari­ety of ini­tia­tives to tack­le home­less­ness and con­tem­po­rary forms of slav­ery and sets out his con­clu­sions drawn and his prac­ti­cal rec­om­men­da­tions to States, civ­il soci­ety orga­ni­za­tions, pub­lic and pri­vate hous­ing providers and busi­ness­es and employers.
